Freshman/Sophomore Boy's Basketball Wins 6th Game in a Row

Junior Kaws knock off JCN 48-27

February 04, 2008

When 2007-2008 Basketball season began, the Kaw's coaching staff was presented with a frustrating dilemma, a lack of numbers in the freshman program.

" It's frustrating that some of the kids in our school are not as interested in working hard and committing to something that is bigger than themselves, but we really don't worry about the negative, our approach has always been that we want the best kids. The hardest working and the toughest in our school and in that particular class we were left with 4 or 5 kids. Luckily for us we have 6-7 sophomores who are just as tough and hard working so we were able to blend those two classes together into one team that has had more success than either class ever had separately. I could not be more proud of the job that Coach Foltz and Coach Vaughn has done with those kids and what the kids have accomplished. Through their good attitudes and effort they have turned a potential negative into an overwhelming positive!", said Head Coach Jeff Dickson.

A positive because that Kaws are riding high on a six game winning streak including a recent dismantling of the Jeff County North Chargers 48-27.

The win over JCN puts that Kaws at 9-3 on the season and has given many more players an opportunity to develop themselves as players.

The FR/SOPH squad has games remaining with Bonner Springs, Piper and Lansing, all teams who have given the Kaws a great deal of trouble in the past. But if the season has given us any indication, PLHS will be in good shape for the future.
