2008 3rd-4th Grade Track Meet

The Elementary Track Meet for the 3rd and 4th graders from Lecompton and Perry Elementary Schools was held on Monday, May 12th. This track meet has been a tradition in our district for over 30 years. The weather was perfect, and there were many fine performances. The students enjoyed running, jumping, and throwing with students from the other school, and getting the opportunity to test their track and field skills.
One disappointment for me was that I was unable to attend the track meet. I was in Toronto for the weekend, and my Sunday evening return flight was canceled due to thunderstorms in Chicago. I was happy to hear many stories about the track meet from my students.
We would like to thanks all the parents, friends, and other relatives for coming out and cheering for our young athletes.
Congratulations to all the 3rd and 4th graders who participated!
