New Elementary Music Teacher for LES and PES
by Alayna Stewart
I graduated in 2003 from McLouth High School. I spent five years at Kansas State University, where I completed my degree in Music Education and also received my coaching endorsement. During my time at K-State, I participated in choir, marching band, and other student organizations.
This spring I had the privilege to student teach with Mr. Clay Jones at Perry Elementary and Lecompton Elementary. It is great to be continuing with the same staff and students!
I have two brothers and one sister. My oldest brother Kevin is 20 years old and is attending the University of Kansas. My brother Mark just graduated from high school and will also become a Jayhawk next year. My sister Terri is going to be a freshman in high school next year.
My dad is an engineer in Kansas City and also coaches football at McLouth. My mom is a special education para. My fiancé Chris is working towards his Masters in Public Administration at Kansas State University. We will be getting married next summer. Outside of school I enjoy running, reading, spending time with family, and traveling. This summer I plan to bike part of the Katy State Trail!
I am very excited to start my career in the Perry-Lecompton School District! I look forward to seeing the students again in a few months!
