A New Science Teacher for a New Science Lab!

by J.B. Elliott

As you walk down the south hall of PLHS, you will most certainly notice the newly renovated and now impressive science labs.  Along with the new accommodations you will likely find a new face.  That would be the smiling face of the newest member of the Science Department, Mr. David LaFevre.  Mr. LaFevre will be teaching five sections of Earth/Space science and one section of Biology during the fall semester.

Mr. LaFevre comes to us after spending the past 10 years serving in the role of Assistant Principal at Washburn Rural High School.  While at Washburn Rural, his duties included those typical of an Assistant Principal; monitoring student conduct, supervision at extra curricular activities, assisting in management of facilities, professional staff development and maintaining an effective communication program.

Previous to his administrative position, Mr. LaFevre was a Science Teacher and Athletic Director and Menwith Hill Middle School in Harrogate, England.  This is a school for the children of military personnel who are stationed in England.   Mr. LaFevre has also taught Science at Southeast Nebraska Consolidated School in Stella, Nebraska.

Mr. LaFevre holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska, a Master’s of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi and was a Doctoral candidate in Education Administration also at the University of Southern Mississippi.

We are looking forward to drawing from Mr. LaFevre’s vast educational experiences for many years to come!
