Mrs. Scrimsher 2nd Grade Newsletter
Lisa Scrimsher
Our first week of school is over and everyone seems to be adjusting well. We have been very busy learning classroom procedures, second grade rules, and working in our new books. We’ve already had our first spelling and reading tests (everyone did very well!) and next week we’ll have our first math test. Success Maker (a computer reading and math program) was also started this week.
Our library check-out day will be Wednesday. Students will check-out two books. I ask that they keep one here in their desks and take the other one home overnight to read. All books should be returned by Wednesday so AR tests can be taken, books checked in, and new books checked out.
PES Back to School Night is coming up on Thursday, August 28 from 6:30-8:00. It is an opportunity for parents/guardians to learn more about the programs at our school and what students are doing in their classrooms. Parents will also have the opportunity to sign up to help with classroom parties. Everyone will meet in the gym at 6:30 for a 30 minute general session and then will be dismissed to their children’s classrooms. This is an evening for parents/guardians only. Sorry for any inconvenience. Hope to see you there!
