Mrs. Patterson 2nd Grade Newsletter
Student of the Week—Our first student of the week will start the week of August 29th. I will give the name out in next week’s newsletter.
They will be given some construction paper to take home. On that paper you may tape pictures of themselves and/or family that they would like to display on our bulletin board for others to see. Some of the other classes bring pictures from when they are babies till now. Under each picture help your child write a caption.
Look closely in next week’s newsletter to see who will be our next Student of the Week.
Back to School Night

During classroom sessions: I will be going over our classroom schedule, expectations, parties, and questions you may have can be addressed.
**Most effective when it’s only a night for parents. It’s a night to learn about your child’s classroom without trying to worry about your children.

Library books:
Library checkout is every Wednesday. Please encourage your child to read at home and then bring their books back everyday to read here at school.
If their books are in their reading level, they may take AR tests on them.
Math: We will continue to work on Chapter 1 this week. This chapter focuses on number concepts through 50.
