Fall Sports Underway in USD 343!

The 2008-2009 school year is off to a great and exciting start. New students, new classrooms and new teachers are adding to the excitement. (For a sneak peek at our outstanding teams click on the slide show link and see who will be tearing up the Kaw Valley League this season for PLHS!!!)
We have over 160 students that are participating in fall sports for 2008. Practices have been going strong, starting with two-a-days the first week. Everyone is excited about Friday the 29th of August and all the activities that are scheduled. Please see the schedule that follows:
4:30—JV Soccer vs Piper, Varsity to follow
4:30—Tennis Scrimmage
5:00—Volleyball Scrimmage
6:00—Football Scrimmage
The concession stand will be available for the entire evening in place of the Spirit Picnic. Each athlete will receive a ticket for a free meal. Also, Cross Country will have a table set up in the Multi-purpose building with information.
Prior to the scrimmages we will be taking team pictures in uniforms. All patrons are welcome to bring their cameras! The schedule for team pictures is as follows:
3:30—Soccer
3:45—Girls Golf
4:00—Cross Country
4:15—Tennis
4:30—Volleyball
4:45—Cheerleaders
5:00—Football
Following the scrimmage is the Welcome Back Dance sponsored by Blue Krew.
It won’t be long and all our athletics will begin their competitions. Golf will be attending the Jeff West Invitational on 8/28, Soccer competes against Piper on 8/29, Tennis is at the Seaman Tournament on 9/4 along with JV and Varsity Volleyball at home with Jeff West and Piper and Cross Country at the Jeff West Invitational. Friday the 5th will be the first varsity football game at Holton.
We hope to fill the stands at all our events and we appreciate all the supports we receive from the parents, patrons and community.

So get your Kaw gear ready and the tailgating supplies stocked up and get out and support these talent teams of coaches and student-athletes!
