KVL Band Festival

The Kaw Valley League Music festival was held on Wednesday March 12th at Perry-Lecompton Middle School. This is the first time that PLMS has been able to host this festival thanks to our new building and the fact that we now have two gyms. PLHS high school band members greeted incoming teams and directed guest schools throughout the school. The festival included the Middle School Bands from Lexington Trails, Tonganoxie, Lansing, Basehor, Monticello Trails, Mill Creek, Piper, and of course our own PLMS Band.
Each band was given 30 minutes to play their music and receive a clinic from the judge. This years Judge was Ed Colsen. Ed was a Junior High Band Director for many years in the Olathe School District and is currently the Director of Bands at Olathe Northwest High School.
The PLMS band performed very well and received a “I” rating which is the highest rating a band can earn. Congratulations band for a job well done.
